Foundation/UF Advancement Website2017
Redesigned and reimagined to align with “Go Greater” comprehensive campaign branding. Storytelling takes the front stage on the new website with easier, direct access to popular funds and clear call to action for making a gift.
Itinerary Builder Website2018
Our board manager was using a clunky Access database to build itineraries. It was difficult to assemble the agendas, graphic quality was poor in the print version, and collaborating with development officers to finalize the agendas was difficult. This solution moved it to a custom WordPress installation. The board manager could pre-build the core events and agendas. Development officers could log in with their own credentials (through Active Directory) and make adjustments to the agendas for the people they manage. The site is optimized for mobile view and has a comprehensive print stylesheet.

University Homepage2010, 2013, 2016
Initial redesign to align with newly-launched unified university brand and new logo, addressing the university’s six major audiences, allowing visitors to access curated information without leaving the homepage. Refreshed in 2013 to simplify the design. Redesigned in 2016 to realign with brand evolution, further simplify the design, and incorporate social media directly onto the page.
InsideODU2010, 2013
Program and assist with designing a semi-weekly e-newsletter to be sent to all university faculty and staff, ensuring ease of creation, flexibility and consistency in presentation across email clients. Both designs are part of my portfolio.
Commencement@ODU/ Commencement Central2007, 2009
Create a central resource for graduating students to find out about everything related to the commencement exercises. This redesign was part of a President-assigned initiative to improve the appearance of the commencement ceremonies and know exactly how many and which students were participating.
Office of Student Housing2007
The Vice President for Institutional Advancement (who later became President) chose me to do a strategic redesign of the Office of Student Housing website because admissions (part of his portfolio) found that prospective students and parents were experiencing difficulty in finding information about housing and housing options. My design was used as the basis for a new template.
Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC)2006
Redesign and re-architecture the website and move it from a Lotus Notes server to an on-premises Linux server. Utilize the new center branding and refreshed logo.
Pennsylvania State University
Labor Studies & Industrial Relations2003
Redesign the departmental homepage for the Department of Labor Studies and Industrial Relations to match asthetic desired by supervisor to support major fundraiser/donor event.
Women’s Studies2002
Redesign the departmental homepage for the Women’s Studies program to promote the maturity of the program and help support its case for becoming a full department.
Unfortunately, the Wayback Machine was unable to acquire all of the graphics, so there are some broken image placeholders.
Liberal Arts Undergraduate Advising Resource Site2002
This project is notable not necessarily for its look and feel, but for its concept and implementation. Our unit was responsible for overseeing advising in all of the departments in the College of the Liberal Arts. I developed the concept of a website where advisors in the departments could find information and procedures on-demand. The site was developed so that new topics could be easily added with no Web programming experience and they would be added to the topic index.
Liberal Arts Undergraduate Studies2000, 2002
Redesign the website for undergraduate studies, which included undergraduate advising and records. Goal of initial redesign was to make top options directly available on the homepage. Second redesign involved classifying links into a flash menu and displaying a news scroll (where the solid blue field is in the screen capture).

Old Dominion University Homepage
Proposal 12010
First proposal for redesigning the university’s homepage. Using a stylized-for-the-university version of Cover Flow for the interactive was part of the requirement.
Proposal 22010
This proposal uses a different take on Cover Flow and adds an "awesome bar" for secondary navigation.
Proposal 32010
This proposal uses a textured background and simplifies content. It also separates audience navigation from top-of-the-page tertiary navigation.
